Out of date
Never worked, wasted my time and my money because the technology is out of date.
Works easy, but not fast
I find that this device is very slow compared to other devices that are the same. Data transfer rates are much less and while it works without an problem, it is just slow. Still a good purchase if you not in a hurry. For data backups wher you just walk away, it is perfect.
Ultra U12-40897 Hard Drive Dock
Good Looks but Poor Design. Others on the market with better design.
Small problem, but overall works
I had trouble with getting this device to connect with any of my computers. I called the Ultra help line, were I found them friendly. Though I discovered on my own, that the USB Cable was the reason I couldn't get a connection. After replacing it with a spare I haven't had any further issues.
Great for data rescue and review
Bought this gadget when I got an email flyer featuring it, and I am glad I did. Crazy good value compared to the time and effort of swapping HD data the old fashion way. It is a lot bigger then I thought it was going to be, but I don't plan on leaving it plugged into one of my systems for more then a few hours or so at a time, so it will mainly live in a drawer. I bought this to retrieve data off several old hard drives (from old servers, crashed PC's, etc) and it works flawlessly. Too bad its not USB 3.0, but I am still very happy with it. Haven't, and doubt I ever will use the card reader options, every piece of technology that's come out in the last 5 years have a card reader built in, no need for another.
